About Us

Practice yoga without expecting perfection

Our mission is to provide a safe yoga practice that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit by intuitively guiding students through sequences that build strength through the breath.  The practice of yoga can help increase one's sense of self-awareness that leads to a better focus on areas of life which matter most.  We believe YOGA MATters, because we believe that YOU matter.

Meet the Team

Diem

I am a graduate of Ennis High School (Class of '89) and Texas A&M University (Class of '93) in College Station.   I have taught 1st through 3rd grades in Ennis ISD for over 25 years.  God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters.

I began practicing Yoga a few years after the birth of my second child.  Yoga helped me regain strength in parts of my body where I had lost it during pregnancy.  It also helped to renew the energy that I had not felt in a long time due to caring for my family and working full time.  There are many benefits to practicing Yoga, including strength, balance, and flexibility.  If you have never practiced Yoga, I encourage you to give it a try and see what it can do for you.

I have lived in Ennis most of my life.  I graduated from Baylor University with a B.S. in Biology and Clinical Laboratory Science, M.A. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences.  I've worked clinically, in research and development, and education.  Education is a huge part of my life, and I love to pass on knowledge to others.  I have been a professor of Biology at Dallas Baptist University since 2000.  I met my husband while at Baylor and have 3 children.

I am so excited to be a part of YOGA MATters!  I began practicing yoga over eleven years ago and became a yoga instructor in 2019.  Yoga has so many benefits!  Breathing practice and focus can lower blood pressure and anxiety; increasing balance and flexibility can decrease risk of injuries; and, strength training will help you do more so you can live your best life.
